1. RU Leading people to live out the Great Commission/Command?
R your people LOVING GOD. (at home, at work, at play – everywhere?)
OR, are people confusing singing on Sundays for a life of Worship?
We often forget this first command and end up appeasing Mankind while grieving God. Being the Church means we obey Jesus’ commands and live-out what Jesus taught. Even if the World disagrees.
Knowing love, Having a correct Identity in Christ, Hearing God, Understanding the Bible are critical Inflow elements to Love God.
R your people LOVING their NEIGHBOR.
OR, are people letting OTHERS love their neighbors?
This is more of a heart/attitude issue than anything else. While never ignoring or excusing bad behavior, we must learn to see past bad behavior and see a human-being. Where our heart/attitude leads – our 1st & 2nd Step Actions will follow. (When you see a need – do YOU help meet that need?)
Spending time WITH other people as we bring our 2nd Step Gifting (fueled by God), and: 1) Live a life of Worship, 2) Love one another, 3) Pray together, and 4) Study the Bible together are critical elements to Loving our Neighbor
R your people Helping Others to LOVE GOD and their NEIGHBOR.
OR, do they defer to “THE LEADERSHIP” to give that help?
This accomplishes the MULTIPLYING dynamic that Jesus set in motion by his lifestyle and final words in the Great Commission. Here we serve with our Church-gifting to build each other up AND help others do the same. Here we Love God and neighbor AND help others do the same.
Clarifying Who is God, Who is my Neighbor, and What is Love is essential to BE the Church.
2. Do your gatherings resemble 1 Corinthians 12-14?
Are people ALLOWED to use their body gifting.
OR, do people come and watch a LEADER use THEIR gifting?
Q. Are you being led to learn your body gifting?
This is a clear indication if the “leadership” is running a program or leading God’s people to function as a BODY. No one was ever meant to be “the AUDIENCE” in the KINGDOM OF GOD.
Are people desiring LOVE and Unity over the spotlight?
OR, are amazing talents and actions being overshadowed by opinions, unkindness and selfishness?
Q. Are people creating conflict or positions that enable their egos and erase yours?
This is a clear indication if self-seeking or insecure people are overtaking your group.
Is there MATURITY and ORDER
OR, are people living out their faith as “infants” and the “popular” people are in charge?
Q. Are “leaders” doing life in the Harvest Field while they shepherd?
This is a clear indication if self-seeking or insecure people are in charge of your group.
What stops ME from BE-ing the Church?
